J.C. Hutchins’s “7th Son” on Sale

by on Oct.27, 2009, under News

I just want to take a moment to tell you that you should all buy J.C. Hutchins’s new book “The 7th Son: Descent,” available now from St. Martin’s Griffin. It’s a techno-thriller-conspriacy-action-super-explodey-pile-of-awesomeness with a side order of clones. But hey, if you’re reading this, you probably like podcast fiction, and you probably already know J.C. Hutchins’s work better than I do.

The reason I’m writing this is that we should support him. We need to support him because he’s one of us, someone who loves serialized podcast fiction, and a pioneer in his field. Don’t get me wrong, the beginning of “7th Son” has me intrigued as all get out, but I would buy it anyway. I would buy it to prove that Hutchins should be taken seriously.

I would buy it to prove to major publishing houses that we should all be taken seriously.

We podcast authors are not like other authors. We are tested in the marketplace of ideas, against thousands of dedicated competitors, and our success or failure does not depend on some agent or publisher, but on the quality of our work. There is no nepotism in podcasting. If you can succeed here, it’s because you have a real product. I care about J.C. Hutchins’s book for that exact reason. He is showing the writing world what’s up. He has survived the frontier, and now he deserves our respect, if not our patronage.

So please, if you plan on buying a book sometime soon, head over to and pick up “The 7th Son: Descent.” It won’t disappoint.
